In the quest to localize peace building initiatives, the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Misamis Oriental Provincial Office recently conducted a series of orientation/workshop on Localization of Executive Order EO 70 and the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) in eight RCSP target cities and municipalities.
DILG X Regional Director Arnel Agabe said that the series of orientations aims to encourage convergence to address community identified issues and interventions.
The RCSP orientations highlighted the role of barangay officials and the community in achieving inclusive and sustainable peace through the Whole of Nation Approach.
Considering the health threat of COVID-19 pandemic, Agabe said that participants underwent simulated immersion instead of actual community dialogue. Outputs of the simulated immersion includes RCSP Immersion Plan, and the RCSP Data Capture Form - Issues Identification.
Said orientation was conducted in four batches, namely: Batch 1 for Claveria; Batch 22 for Salay; Batch 3 for Gingoog City and Medina, and Batch 4 for Talisayan, Lagonglong and Sugbongcogon.
According to Agabe, the orientation ensures effective operationalization of the RCSP and in compliance with Memorandum Circular No. 2020-095, entitled Remedial Measures on the Localization of Executive Order No. 70 and all Peacebuilding Activities.
Participants in each batch include the city/municipal RCSP Core Team (C/MLGOO, LnB & SK Federation President, Battalion Commander, Chief of Police, Fire Marshal, IPMR and Cadre) and barangay officials of the target barangays (Punong Barangay, SK Chair, SB Committee Chair on Peace and Order, Barangay Secretary).
