DILG R3 orients 51 Central Luzon LGUs on streamlining BPCO

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 3 (R3) leads the conduct of an online training roll-out on streamlining Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy (BPCO) for local government units (LGUs) cum integration of barangay clearance for 51 target LGUs on May 20, 2021 via Zoom platform.

The activity was conducted to capacitate the remaining 51 target LGUs in Central Luzon in the adoption and implementation of the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) 2018-01 dated January 4, 2018 of the DILG, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of information and Communication Technology (DICT), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on guidelines in streamlining the processes of the issuance of BPCO.

Intending to impart knowledge and understand the salient features of the JMC, the DILG R3 collaborated with partner agencies such as the DICT, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the City Government of San Fernando.

The said training also strengthened the role of Building Officials and other concerned LGU functionaries in implementing the standard reforms stipulated in the JMC.

DILG R3 Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag welcomed the participants and commended everyone, especially the barangays and LGUs, for delivering the best services to the clientele amid the pandemic.

The activity was graced by the resource speakers from the DICT Luzon Cluster 2, BFP III, City Government of San Fernando, Pampanga and participated in by the LGU functionaries and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) from the 51 LGUs of Central Luzon.
