TUGUEGARAO CITY – Pursuant to the presidential directive for a whole-of-nation approach in ending local communist activities, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2, in collaboration with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), recently spearheaded the conduct of the Organizational Meeting for the Creation of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) at the DILG Conference Hall, Regional Government Center, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City.
A total of 50 participants from various national government agencies attended the meeting, which aims to identify the members of the task team emulating the twelve (12) clusters of the National Task Force (NTF), and to identify the roles and functions of each team.
Presiding the activity was DILG Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr., CESO III, in his capacity as Cagayan Valley Regional Peace and Order Council (CVRPOC) Head Secretariat, together with Regional Development Council (RDC) Vice-Chairperson and NEDA Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr.
DILG RD Jonathan Paul M Leusen underscored the Whole-of-Nation approach to end local communist armed conflict in his message. He shared the initiatives undertaken by the office to support the implementation of Executive Order 70 of the President.
The body agreed to set another meeting to plan on the next steps to be undertaken by the team.
