LANAO DEL NORTE – A total 18 punong barangays (PBs) in Tangcal, Lanao del Norte pledged to support the government’s program in maintaining peace and order and sustainable development, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Lanao del Norte.
DILG-Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Bruce Colao said that these PBs took their pledged to deny entry and suppress any attempt or activity from extremist groups during the recently concluded Peace, Development and Governance Conversations in the said town.
Colao said the event was participated by representatives from Pakigdait, Inc., the 125th MILF Base Camp, the Philippines Army 5th Mechanized Battalion, PNP Provincial Director with respective LGU officials and functionaries of the municipality of Tangcal, Punong Barangays, and religious sectors.
Meanwhile, DILG- Lanao del Norte Cluster Head Mary Jean Y. Quibranza led the Governance Conversations on the national government’s priorities and DILG plans and programs with the local officials and LGU department heads.
Lanao del Norte, 2nd Distric Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo of and Tangcal Municipal Mayor Fatima M. Tomawis led the oath taking during the said activity.
All stakeholders present during the event vowed to support and sustain peace and development in the town.
