Three former rebels (FRs) recently received P346,000 worth of assistance through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), said the Department of the Interior and Local Government Lanao del Norte Office.
DILG Provincial Director Bruce Augusto Colao extended his appreciation to the municipal government of Kapatagan for their support to the operationalization of Executive Order 70 in the province.
“Unity is key in ending the local communist armed conflict in the country, thus we need to bear in mind always that this endeavor must be done through a whole-of-society approach," Colao said.
Colao said each FR received P15,000 as immediate financial assistance and P50,000.00 as livelihood assistance and remuneration of surrendered firearms during a turnover ceremony at Kapatagan Municipal Hall.
Meanwhile, Kapatagan Mayor Barry Y. Baguio who was instrumental in the surrender of the three FRs also provided them with locally driven assistance. He emphasized his administration's determination to support the program to attain lasting peace and development in his jurisdiction.

Cristina Atay, Philippine National Police (PNP)-Lanao del Norte Deputy Provincial Director PLTC Mauro P. Guray, members of the Provincial E-CLIP Committee and media representatives
ECLIP has been established to help former rebels be secured, assisted and integrated back to the mainstream of Philippine Society as part of the localization of Executive Order No. 70.
