Antique-Guimaras cluster holds workshop on BuB Monitoring and Evaluation

SAN JOSE, Antique – In line with the implementation of Bottom Up Budgeting (BuB), the DILG Provincial Office in Antique and Guimaras conducted a workshop on BuB Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for 2013 projects at Adelaide Tourist and Travelers Inn here recently.

Highlighting Empowerment of the Poor Program, BuB mobilizes national government agencies to become more responsive to local needsthrough strengthening thedevolution of services, incentivizing local governance reforms and empowering citizenry.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the signing of the covenant on good governance and sustainable development among the DILG, LGUs and CSOs.

A framework of the monitoring and evaluation tool was made during the workshop as an output by recipient local government units from Culasi, Bugasong, Caluya, Patnongon, Laua-an, San Remigio and Hamtic of Antique and San Lorenzo and Nueva Valencia of Guimaras.

The participants were composed of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators, Municipal Budget Officers, Municipal Local Government Operations Officers, Co-Chair of MPRAT, 2 Civil Society Organization Representatives and 2 members of Project Monitoring Team.

Invited speakers were LGOO V Anna Lee Mostacho, DILG BUB Focal Person; Ms. Sharon Tusalem from DSWD; CSO Provincial Coordinator of Antique Ms. MarilouLlavan; and CSO Provincial Coordinator of Iloilo Mr. Sandy Mecuando III.

Topics discussed were on BUB Concepts, Principles, Objectives, Expected Outputs and Performance Indicators, Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation, Setting Up the Local M & E, Practicum in Setting Up local M&E system and Citizens-Led Monitoring Project.
