DILG Region IX has been rendering appropriate assistance and interventions to all LGUs, from the provinces down to the barangays. The DILG Regional Director and the Assistant Regional Director oversee the implementation of the Department's programs. Providing them the needed support are the Planning, Legal, Information, Computer Programmer, Secretary, Telecommunication which are under the Management Support Services Unit (MSSU) and the Project Development Management Units subsumed by the MSSU. There are three (3) major divisions, namely, Operations Division (OD), Technical Services Division (TSD) and the Administrative Division (ASD).

The Regional Office has a total of 254 plantilla positions, 163 are technical and 91 are administrative positions. The Regional Office is located at Zamboanga Convention Center, Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.

DILG IX has been implementing the PPAs of the Department to enable LGUs to become effective partners in national development as well as introducing innovations to address the demand-driven needs of the region.
