Good governance has been the vision of every local government units. After fourteen (14) years of implementation of the Local Government Code of 1991, a number of LGUs have demonstrated good practices in Local Governance./ However, these practices were not maximized in terms of their replication in other caopacity building interventions for LGUs
Local Governance Institutional Capacity Building for Participatory governace (LGOC PHI 020/010) Facility encouraghe continued learning and improvement in the local governance through the establishment of the Godo Practices in Local Governance: Facility for Adapataion and Replication (GO-FAR) Project. The project promotes the replication of good practices with a systematic and supportive project implementation process that involves learning from, and learning with other practices that are proven and effecrtive solutions to common and similar problems, for the sustainable well-being of citizens with least possible cost and effort.
GO-FAR Description
GO-FAR is a facility designed to assist LGUs in building their capacities by providing them the opportunity to improve local governance along the areas of development planning, fiscal administration, accountability and service delivery through replicating good practices that are participatory, innovatiovend sustainable.
The project is another intervention mechanism of the DILG in its support to the government effort in institutionalizing good local governance specifically in trying to address priority Local Mellinium Development Goals (MDGs) and identified local governance performance condition. Basically, it deals more on the strategiesin facilitating the actual exercise of the transfer of technology of specific good practice where interested LGUs would want to replicate, manage knwledge and funds for sustainable technical assistance. |
