History
The CALABARZON is located in the southern part of the main island of Luzon. Easily accessible, it is a popular destination for Filipino families living in Manila.
The CALABARZON Region is the result of the splitting of the Southern Tagalog Region into two (2) on the basis of Executive Order No. 103 issued in 2002.
EO 103 separated CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) from MIMAROPA (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
Through Executive Order No. 246 issued on October 28, 2003, Calamba City was designated as CALABARZON's Regional Center.
