Cebu City - “Trust me and I will also trust you” was the key message of the new Regional Director of DILG Region 7, Mr. Ananias Mori Villacorta, during the recent turnover ceremony of the DILG7 leadership at the DILG–7 Training Center here.

In his speech, RD Villacorta stressed that he envisions his management and stint in the DILG7 to be one with one color.

He described himself as an output-oriented director who will focus on the relevance of an innovation or initiative to the clientele as well as in the internal structure of the office.

He also encouraged the DILG 7 workforce to help the Department’s regional office grow as an institution, and to move on as one with him steering the wheel of leadership.

During the simple but fitting ceremony, the new RD was given a warm welcome by the DILG7 men and women with an appropriate welcome song and sumptuous lunch.

Born in Carmen, Agusan Del Norte in the CARAGA Region, Director Villacorta is a Career Service Officer with 36 reputable years in public service starting as Field Officer in the Department. He has provided expert technical assistance to almost all aspects on local governance in his various assignments in Regions 10, 11 and 13 as provincial director, assistant regional director and OIC Regional Director.

An accomplished career officer, Dir. Villacorta inched his way to become a regional director with various trainings, study grants and seminars locally and internationally.

His areas of expertise in the area of management include Strategic Planning, Strategic Management and Partnership Development. -Willie Jean Cabanag
