Philippine Eagle WeekJune 4, 2012 to June 10, 2012
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 79, June 4-10 each year is observed as Philippine Eagle Week to celebrate the beauty of the countrys national bird and attract interest and support for the eagle and environmental conservation efforts. The said Proclamation aims specifically to 1) to strengthen public awareness on the significant role of the Philippine Eagle in the forest ecosystem, and its importance as a national symbol and unique heritage, among others; 2) to generate unified and concerted efforts among all sectors of the society to ensure the protection and perpetuation of the species ; and 3) to encourage non-government organizations, private companies or corporations, peoples organization, academic and scientific organizations and all another interested parties to participate in the annual celebration of PEW.
