Establishment

Pursuant to Section 18, Chapter 5, Title XII of EO 292, otherwise known as the Administrative Code of 1987, the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government is mandated to establish, operate and maintain a Regional Office in each of the administrative regions established by law. In view of the approval of RA 7901, dated February 23,1995, establishing the Caraga Administrative Region, DILG Regional Office was established on September 13, 1995 to facilitate meaningful development and bring the government closer to the people.

Mandate

To promote peace and order, ensure public safety and further strengthen local government capability, aimed towards the effective delivery of basic services to the citizenry.

Vision

The DILG is the primary catalyst for excellence in local governance that nurtures self- reliant, progressive, orderly, safe and globally competitive communities sustained by God- centered and empowered citizenry.

Mission

The Department shall promote peace and order, ensure public safety, strengthen local government units through active peoples participation .and a professionalized corps of public servants.
