Southern Philippines has a stronger arm for progress - the recently re-aligned Region 12. The newly configured region, now composed of the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani, and the cities of General Santos, Koronadal, Tacurong and Kidapawan forms a stronger arm for progress.
The region abounds with raw materials and products generally supplied to domestic markets while some products have already captured the export markets in the past years. These include canned tuna, fresh frozen and value-added fish, fresh and processed pineapple and banana, crude coconut oil and asparagus which are traded to countries in Europem the USA and Asean countries.
