Barangay Officials Death Claims

  • How much is the death and burial benefit of barangay officials?

    Barangay officials (Punong Barangay, Barangay Kagawad, Barangay Treasurer, Barangay Secretary and SK Chairman) who die during their term of office are entitiled to death and burial benefits as mandated for by Republic Act 7160 under Section 393 (b) (2). The amount for death benefit is Php10,000 except for the position of Punong Barangay which is entitled to Php 20,000. The amount for burial benefit is Php 2,000 regardless of position.

  • How to apply?

    Application for death benefit claims are filed at the DILG Municipal or City Office covering the LGU of deceased official. Applicants are to fill-up a Death Benefit Claim Form (click here to open form), available at said office, supported by a certified true copy of the death certificate of deceased barangay official.

  • How to claim?

    Releasing of claims is done at the DILG Provincial and City Offices (Highly Urbanized). Claimants should present any of the following documents, whichever is applicable, in claiming:

    1. Certified true copy of Marriage Certificate, if claimant is spouse of deceased;
    2. Birth Certificate, if claimant is a child of the deceased;
    3. Certified true copy of Birth Certificate of the deceased or affidavit of two disinterested parties, if the deceased barangay official is single and the claimant is his/her parent/brother/sister; and
    4. In the absence of the immediate family beneficiaries, the claimant may present valid IDs such as voters ID, driver's license, postal ID, passport, or certification from the barangay that he/she is a resident of barangay of the deceased.

     

 

Community Based Monitoring System

  • What is CBMS (Community Based Monitoring System)?

    It is a household poverty indicator survey using the 13 Core Local Poverty Indicators (CLPI) and the Maternal Reproductive Health indicator. The CLPI is a poverty index collectively identified by various national government agencies to include NEDA, DOH, DSWD, DILG, DepEd, POPCOM, etc.

  • What is the frequency of the implementation of the CBMS survey?

    Every 3 years or every after the term of the local chief executive.
