Malungkot ko pong tinanggap ang balita ng pagkamatay ng mga bumbero ng BFP Mati City na sila Arnel John Angsinco, Ludovico Ponce, at ni Nico Corambao nang naaksidente ang kanilang sinasakyang fire truck. Nangyari po ito habang rumeresponde sila sa isang sunog sa Manay, Davao Oriental.

Nakikiramay po kami sa mga naiwan ng mga yumaong bumbero habang nagpapasalamat sa kanilang dedikasyon sa kanilang tungkulin. Makasisiguro po ang lahat na ang mga nasawi at ang apat nilang kasamang nasugatan sa aksidente ay makatatanggap ng suporta at tulong mula sa pamahalaan. Iimbestigahan po ang aksidenteng ito upang malaman kung papaano ito maiiwasan sa hinaharap.

In line with the observance of Fire Prevention Month this March, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas announced that 17 new firetrucks and three new ambulances donated by the Japanese Government will be officially turned over to several local government units (LGUs) in Visayas tomorrow.

"We are thankful to our benefactors and we believe that our LGUs will now be more equipped in responding to emergency situations," Roxas said.

Roxas' submits text messages re Mamasapano Incident

Interior and Local Government Sec. Mar Roxas promised full cooperation to the Board of Inquiry (BOI) which was formed to inquire into the Mamasapano incident.

In a press conference in Camp Crame, Roxas said he has submitted to the BOI information regarding text messages he received and sent to President Aquino and to other Philippine National Police (PNP) officials on Jan. 25, when the “misencounter” occurred.

As the nation observes Women’s Month this March, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas enjoined all local government units (LGUs) to conduct relevant activities that will highlight the key role of women leaders in nation-building.
